Thursday Reads: foursquare + OpenTable; NYC Teacher Ban

3 May

Here’s what I’m reading this morning…

Mashable!: The New York City Department of Education has banned teachers from interacting with students on social media.

foursquare blog: The location-based social media network has teamed with OpenTable to create a “Make a Reservation” option “at over 15,000 places in major cities across the US.”

Social Media Week: Use Instagram for a chance to win a trip to one of the following cities in September: Barcelona, Berlin, Bogota, Chicago, Doha, Glasgow, Hong Kong, Jeddah, London, Los Angeles, Torino, São Paulo, Seoul and Vancouver.

Pinterest Blog: The photo-sharing site is looking for translators.

Hootsuite Blog: The dashboard service has three hours of downtime scheduled Friday night from 9 p.m. to midnight EST.

Reuters: Facebook’s IPO is scheduled for May 18 – my birthday. Not cool, stealing my thunder and all.

What did I miss?
