Chardon High School Shooting Breaking on Twitter


(UPDATE 12:34 p.m.) – Here’s how the Chardon High School shooting in Ohio unfolded via Twitter and local news outlets. The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that a victim shot in the ear identified the shooter.

@WKYC says two suspects are in custody. But @BreakingNews cites the superintendent as saying there was one shooter.

One person has died, @ReggieFields of the Cleveland Plain Dealer tweeted.

A prayer vigil has been scheduled, according to the News-Herald.

@mvielhaber appears to be the first to have tweeted the news.

The Huffington Post is streaming the local NBC affiliates live video.

Here is the  Columbus Dispatch’s coverage. “At least four students hurt.”

Cleveland Plain Dealer also reports “4 students hurt.” The Plain Dealer also reports that parents are arriving at school shortly after 9 a.m. to pick up students. Just before 9:30 a.m., it reported parents were being asked to wait in line.

According to emergency radio communications, three victims were flown from the high school and a fourth transported via ambulance. “Everyone accounted for,” according to the scanner.

Radio communications indicated media is being directed to the school board building.
